South African Rapper AKA Reportedly Killed By Drive-By Shooter

A drive-by shooter has reportedly killed a South African rapper, Kiernan Jarryd Forbes, popularly known as AKA.


The drive-by shooter reportedly killed the 35-year-old musician who was popular in South Africa and most parts of Africa for his hit single Victory Lap on Friday, February 10, 2023.


A South African media outlet, IOL claimed that aside from the rapper, the musician's bodyguard was wounded during the attack. 


Also, an unidentified person, who is assumed to be a close friend of AKA, was killed alongside the rapper.


Loud Views gathered that AKA was allegedly shot and killed in the drive-by shooting while he stood in front of the Wish Restaurant. He was reportedly shot 6 times before he gave up the ghost.


Two unidentified cars allegedly fired shots at the rapper. The shooting occurred on Friday night soon before ten o'clock.


The Spokesperson of paramedics in South Africa, ​Garrith Jamieson told ​TimesLive; "On arrival, paramedics met chaos and a scene where two men, believed to be in their late 30s, sustained multiple gunshot wounds. Paramedics assisted the men and unfortunately, the first male had sustained multiple gunshot wounds and showed no signs of life and was declared deceased at the scene.”
