| Investigators at the site of the plane crash |
The Foreign Minister of Iran Javad Zarif has apologized to the families and countries that lost people in the Ukrainian airliner, Boeing 737 that crashed on Wednesday, January 8, 2020, killing all 176 passengers on board.
After a series of denial that the Iranian government had a hand in the plane crash, the foreign minister admitted via a tweet that internal investigation has proven that Iran mistakenly shot down the plan.
He, however, blamed the error on "US adventurism", which probably mean that the error occurred when the country was firing missiles to US Military bases to avenge the death of Iranian General, Qasem Soleimani who was killed by US Military airstrikes on January 3, 2020.
The plane had 63 Canadian, 3 British on board and no American. But some critics see it as part of the vengeance Iranian leaders promised the US after the death of their general.

Human error at the time of crisis caused by US adventurism led to disaster
Our profound regrets, apologies and condolences to our people, to the families of all victims, and to other affected nations.
