2019 Presidential Election: President Buhari Retains Office

The incumbent President of Nigeria, President Muhammadu Buhari of the All Progressives Party (APC) has defeated Atiku Abubakar of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to retain his office for another four years.

The chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC), Prof Mahmood Yakubu announced that  the candidate of APC polled 15,191,847 votes to win the keenly contested February 23rd, 2019 Presidential election. While the PDP flag bearer got 11,262,978.

''That Muhammadu Buhari of the APC, having satisfied the requirement of the law and scored the highest number of votes is hereby declared the winner and is returned elected.''

According to his announcement, President Buhari defeated Atiku  with a margin of 3,928,869.
